Jamas Brooke

Jamas holds a BFA from Kansas State Teachers College in ceramics and silver-smithing and completed Graduate work for his MFA in painting at Emporia University Kansas. His work with clay is mostly pinched, hand-built or altered. He works with both large architectural forms as well as small hand-built pieces. His use of the anagama kiln as well as raku method of firing have earned him a following amongst collectors as well as students. Jamas has taught at several private schools in Bloomington and with the Waldron Center and Ivy Tech.

His ceramics have been exhibited locally as well as nationally, including the Swope Museum, Terra Haute, the Fort Wayne Museum, IN, where he received awards of excellence. He is the recipient of an IAC Grant as well as the Greer Artist Fellowship Grant and has been represented by several galleries including Vale Gallery, Chicago IL, Cline Fine Art, Santa Fe, NM,  Jane Sauer, Santa Fe, NM, Edenside Gallery, Louisville KY, Chapman Friedman Gallery Louisville KY, Catherine Kelleghan Gallery, Atlanta GA,  and Ruschman Fine Art Indianapolis IN.
